Walk & Talk Wester Braikie Farm, Arbroath

Go Back

Join us for a series of Walk & Talks, on Farms and Crofts across Scotland, supported by The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust.

Come and learn about the host farm or croft business alongside informal discussions about wellbeing and of course connect with others, during the farm walk as well over a lunch or supper.

Our aim is to encourage farmers and crofters to take time away, to connect, learn, share food and talk about the value of wellbeing as part of the business.

The events are free and we just need you to confirm your place via the Eventbrite Links.

Wester Braikie Farm, Arbroath

Tuesday 23rd July

9am for refreshments

Finish about 1pm after lunch.

I’m Amy Geddes and am a fourth-generation farmer at Wester Braikie Farms near Arbroath in Angus.

The farm comprises 278ha of spring barley, seed potatoes, vining peas, winter oilseed rape and winter wheat; with 25Ha of mixed woodlands and 14Ha of margins, fallow and hedges.

The farming business has been members of Scottish Agronomy for over 20 years, and I currently sit on the Board of Directors.

I am also a keen volunteer for the Royal Highland Education Trust and enjoy hosting visitors on farm to learn about food and farming and the countryside, and have recently taken on the role of Vice Chair of the RHET Angus Countryside Initiative.

As well as talking about our farming enterprise, learn why I give to these organisations, and what I get back in return.

I hope you can join us on the 23rd July for a morning visit round the farm, followed by a lunch for all.

We value your support!
