Walk & Talk at Poldean Farm, Moffat

Go Back

Join us for a series of Walk & Talks, on Farms and Crofts across Scotland, supported by The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust.

Come and learn about the host farm or croft business alongside informal discussions about wellbeing and of course connect with others, during the farm walk as well over a lunch or supper

Our aim is to encourage farmers and crofters to take time away, to connect, learn, share food and talk about the value of wellbeing as part of the business.

The events are free and we just need you to confirm your place via the Event Brite Links.

Poldean Farm, Moffat

Wednesday 17th July

Arrival from 1pm

Approx 5pm finish

We are Alisdair and Emma Davidson from Poldean Farm, Moffat where we run 300 suckler cows and 450 breeding ewes over 2 Crown Estate farms.  Our 2200 acres comprise of a mix of land types from rough hill ground to land suitable for growing crops.

We operate a grass-based system here and, having farmed with many organic principles in mind in recent years, we officially began organic conversion this year.  This operational change has led us to now growing as many of our own inputs as possible to help improve efficiency, sustainability and profitability.

We have 3 children – Lucy, Rory and Abbie - who love to get involved where possible and they have a few of their own wee enterprises on farm which we actively encourage.  We are always striving to improve our business to shape it to suit our family and staff needs, while always having the final consumer in mind.

We look forward to welcoming you to Poldean to see what we are doing here, enjoy the views from the Moffat hills on our farm tour and have a bite to eat!

We value your support!
