Could you help shape the future of Farmstrong Scotland?
We’re looking for a new Trustee to join the Farmstrong Scotland Board.
Farmstrong Scotland is a preventative wellbeing charity enabling farmers, crofters and the wider agricultural community to lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives, creating more productive and sustainable businesses. We share practical, evidence based tools and ideas that help people look after their mental, physical and social wellbeing.
We’re not looking for one particular profession or specialism. We’re looking for a general Trustee who believes in what Farmstrong is trying to achieve and can bring their own experience, perspective and ideas to the Board.
What are we looking for?
You don’t need to have been a Trustee before. We’re looking for someone who:
- Believes in Farmstrong and what we’re trying to achieve
- Cares about Scotland’s farming and crofting community
- Brings useful experience, ideas and a fresh perspective
- Works well with others and is willing to ask questions and offer constructive challenge
- Can see the bigger picture and contribute to good decisions
- Listens well and respects different points of view
- Communicates clearly and listens to different points of view
- Has the time and commitment to play an active part
- Shares our values of Positive Culture, Supportive Community and Always Curious
What does being a Trustee involve?
As a Trustee, you’ll help shape Farmstrong’s strategic direction, contribute to good governance and decision making, support and challenge the team, and act as an ambassador for the charity.
Being a Trustee also comes with important legal responsibilities. Trustees are collectively responsible for the governance of Farmstrong Scotland and for managing the charity’s assets. This includes acting in the best interests of the charity, exercising appropriate care and diligence, declaring and managing conflicts of interest, and helping to ensure Farmstrong meets its legal obligations. Full information about these responsibilities is included in our Trustee Recruitment Pack.
The role is voluntary and involves a mix of in person and online Board meetings. We ask trustees to make an active contribution, prepare for meetings and attend regularly. Training and support are provided, along with out of pocket travel expenses.
You don’t need to tick every box. We’re interested in what you can bring to the Board, whether that comes from farming, crofting, business, charity work, community involvement or your own life and work experience. If you share our values, care about the wellbeing of Scotland’s agricultural community and would like to help shape Farmstrong’s future, we’d love to hear from you.
Closing date: 12pm on Monday 9th November 2026.
Interviews will take place virtually on Monday 23rd November.
